After sitting spellbound though a production of “The Mikado” at the age of 5, Paul made up his mind to become an actor! A career that has already spanned 30+ years, Paul has played lead roles in West End musicals Grease, Beauty and the Beast and Joseph, performed in number one tours all over the UK and has sung leads in shows all over the world from Qatar to Japan, performing before kings and queens including our very own Prince William.
He has played many TV roles and played opposite John Malkovich in the movie ‘Colour Me Kubrick’. He is also proud to state that he has even appeared as Big Bird in Sesame Street! Paul also presented, wrote and directed his own show ‘Toonatics’ for Children’s BBC for 2 years. This led to a long career of over 17 pantomimes, losing count of how many times he’s played the ugly sister.
Not just an ‘light’ entertainer, Paul has also sung in the ‘full fat’ productions of Carmen, Eugene Onegin and Cosi Fan Tutte and even narrated the notoriously difficult Facade for the English Symphonia, after critical acclaim for his portrayal of the part of The Proprietor in ‘Assassins’ at the Pleasance Theatre, London.
Moving to Spain 6 years ago gave Paul the opportunity to be in “The Jersey Boys” playing the part of Frankie Valli. At which time he was asked to do a drag show, and “she” just took over!!!
Paul's drag creation “The Contessa Guapatini” is only 4 years old. My but she's a big girl! Guapatini has taken off like a sequinned rocket on the Costa Del Sol. She became the most sought after live singing comedy drag entertainer on the coast and was featured in Ch4's fly on the wall documentary called "A New Life In The Sun"
Folowing on from this he has done three UK tours as Guapatini with the highly acclaimed “Music Hall Tavern-MHT Show” until deciding the time was right and the opportunity presented itself to own his own club on the simply gorgeous Costa Del Sol.
In june 2018 it arrived with all the fanfare she could muster and Guapatini's Showbar was born!
